Colorado Springs To Lubbock In TEXAS

Left Colorado Springs in bright sun-light, great to see the sun, headed on down  Highway 25 South, for the first 200km's still very cold, lots of snow in the fields and surrounding  mountains, got to just past Raton and went over the Raton Pass thinking now the weather would change as I had enter New Mexico. Not to happen at the bottom of the pass,  I turn left onto Highway 87 now heading Southeast, hoping  for better weather, with-in a few km's dark clouds appeared overhead,  then it started to hail for about 20 minutes, then further on down the road,  it just had to for the last time drop more snow on, in case  I had forgotten how cold it gets, well after that I entered Texas and rode on to overnight in Lubbock standing on the plains of West Texas and is the home  of the " Buddy Holly Center" which houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to his life and music.
