TEMPLE TO CONROE

Texas Steak

 Salad bar in Old bath

 Cowboy Bar

Conroe Lake Houses

Cop followed me into Motel only to give ticket car behind me, computer on bike.

Enjoying off the beaten tracks routes down to Houston, you see so much more than on the Highways, if you take the minor roads and stop and talk to locals. Stopped for lunch at a place called "The Relay Station Restaurant" who's motto is Lonesome Dove Cattle Company 1800's Chuck Wagon Cooking. See photo of the biggest steak I've eaten so far on the trip, salad bar in an old Cast Iron 4 Legged Bath, nice old wooden building with a cowboy bar and restaurant. Overnighting in Conroe, beautiful city on a very big Lake, upmarket lakeside properties, all with big jetties and just as big speed-boats tried up under cover in front of the houses. Did't want to enter Houston on a Saturday, so will ride in tomorrow.

Good morning, Lindsay - just catching up with your blog. It's good to see you're really settling into a comfortable pace in the USA. Relax and enjoy. You deserve a holiday! Have a happy Sunday. Much love, as always, Jeni & Pam xxx
P.S. Bet you breathed a sigh of relief when the cop gave the car a ticket!
